About Us: EHRtv analyzes the EHR, EMR and PHR Industries.

On February 17, 2009 President Obama signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). Of the $787 billion invested, a large portion ($19.2 Billion) of the ARRA is allocated to improve Health Information Technology. This portion of the Act is known as the HITECH Act.

The HITECH Act offers financial incentives to physicians who purchase, implement, and meaningfully use an Electronic Health Record (EHR) by the year 2015. For example, physicians who accept Medicare are eligible to receive up to $44,000 over a five year period in incentive payments. Physicians who fail to follow the guidelines within the HITECH Act will be penalized through reductions in their fee schedules commencing in 2015.

In order to improve the quality and lower the cost of healthcare, physicians must become educated in healthcare information technology. Unfortunately, HIT is extremely complex and until now there was no single location that provided a comprehensive set of information for practicing physicians, office administrators and CIOs.

EHR TV was established to inform the medical community about the EMR / EHR and PHR Industries, as well as to inform the general public about Personal Health Records.

It is evident that now is the time to understand what the government is offering to and requiring from physicians. the guidelines, and elements of an EHR before transitioning into a paper-free office. EHR TV is providing a service for the medical community to learn every facet of the EHR Industry through video blogging.
