Keith Jantz, MD – Kansas City Internal Medicine, MDs, PC; Allscripts EHR User

Kansas City Internal Medicine (KCIM) group has been using Allscripts ™ electronic medical record (EMR) system since 2004. Dr. Keith Jantz discusses with EHRtv™, the ways in which Allscripts EMR (electronic medical record) software has improved their medical practice. Recently, KCIM was selected as the “Number 1 Small Business in Kansas City” by the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Jantz believes that the winning the award was due in large part to their commitment to health information technology (HIT), through their adoption of Allscripts electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management (PM) systems. The judges were very impressed with the medical practice’s ability to easily retrieve patient medical records and important data. The Allscripts EMR (electronic medical record) also makes it easy to shard important medical data.

Kansas City Internal Medicine has see an impressive return on investment, or ROI from the Allscripts electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management (PM) software systems. From the start, KCIM was able to reduce medical transcription, saving costs to the internal medicine medical practice. Dr. Jantz cites greater quality of patient care as the greatest return. He believes with health information technology (HIT), it is important to reinvest in newer, better technology to truly improve patient care nationwide. Like many practicing physicians using electronic medical records (EMRs), Dr. Jantz is excited about the ability to and connect their data with other physicians.
