Lewis Sanderow – Director of Marketing at Cardinal Health

While attending ACE 09, Lewis Sanderow discusses why Cardinal Health recently joined Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions, Inc. as a reseller. The partnership is due in large part to the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act; which is part of the Stimulus package known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

A great insight into how one distributor picked an EMR system, but it makes me think again about how much EMR is being implemented as much as it is being talked about as a marketing focus.

An insightful discussion with Cardinal Health, but it makes me wonder how often practices are actually implementing EMR systems in contrast with how often medical distributors are pushing its implementation. It still seems that there is a big disconnect between the two.
