Dr. Eric Fishman speaks with Vishal Wanchoo, Presdent and CEO of Healthcare IT at General Electric Healthcare. Mr. Wanchoo describes several of GE’s programs to assist physicians select and implement the GE Centricity EHR/PM system. One of these programs is PowerStart- an initiative helping small physician practices implement an EHR/PM system with a short implementation cycle time of 4-weeks. Stimulus Simplicity is another program that helps physicians in smaller practices overcome cost barriers associated with adopting Health IT. The last program that Mr. Wanchoo discusses is GE’s Clinical Knowledge Platform, Qualibria, which is set for launch in late 2010

Mr. Bagan discusses Kodak’s growing document and electronic imaging solutions related to healthcare, and Kodak’s recent partnership with MyMedicalRecords.com.

At HIMSS10, Dr. Eric Fishman speaks with Angie Lillehei, Chief Clinical Officer of Sage HMS, a subsidiary of DSS Inc. Ms. Lilehei introduces us to the new DSS product, Radwise, which is an intelligent ordering system. Radwise offers online ordering with built in evidence-based decision support, and helps referring physicians send correct orders. Ms. Lillehei share examples of how Radwise can be used to guide physicians towards the proper radiology image ordering and management.

Dr. Andy Weisenthal, Associate Executive Director of the Permanente Foundation, describes Kaiser Permanente as an integrative health delivery system with over 8 million members. Dr. Weisenthal provides an excellent overview of how Kaiser Permanente implemented their robust EHR system called Kaiser Permanente Health Connect. Dr. Fishman and Dr. Weisenthal talk about the challenges and successes of such a large scale EHR implementation.

Dr. Fishman speaks with Hugh Creedon, vxVistA Operations Manager for DSS Inc. They discuss the vxVistA EHR product and its open source license offerings. They also review how DSS is involved in meaningful use criteria and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Health IT system.
