Vikram Agrawal – President and CEO, etransmedia Technology, Inc. – Allscripts™ Largest National Strategic Partner

Etransmedia Technology, Inc. is Allscripts™ largest national strategic partner, or reseller. The relationship began with Misys Healthcare, which was acquired by Allscripts in 2008, to become the new Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions, Inc. Roughly five hundred medical practices are on etransmedia’s electronic medical record (EMR) platform with Allscripts EHR (electronic health record). As the health information technology (HIT) industry has grown, where electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management (PM) systems have become more sophisticated, physicians are more likely to adopt such technologies. Physicians are much savvy with electronic medical record technology, as compared with that of previous years. Doctors are finding EMR products such as the Allscripts MyWay EHR (electronic health record) system easier to use and easier to implement within the medical practice.

Agrawal discusses with EHRtv the strengths of the Allscripts products; including Allscripts Enterprise EHR which is ideal for larger medical practices of twenty-five plus doctors, Allscripts Professional EHR used by medium sized medical practices between three to twenty-four providers, Allscripts MyWay EHR which is ideal for small sized medical practices up to three providers.

Etransmedia is not only the largest national strategic partner, but they also offer medical transcription services. Agrawal finds that most smaller medical groups using Allscripts MyWay EMR, either uses templates to chart the note, or dictates using Dragon Medical. Dragon Medical leads the speech recognition software industry, worldwide. Dragon Medical is instrumental in reducing medical transcription costs for medical practices of any size.

Using the etransmedia model, electronic medical record (EMR) implementation for Allscripts MyWay EHR can take as little as 2-4 weeks, depending on the availability of the physicians, nurses, and administrative staff. They offer a mix of on-site and remote training to the medical staff.
